Have not updated in awhile.  I keep this site for just occasional use.  Trying to stay up in the cyberworld.  Had a pretty good weekend.  Missed the Siegel-Oakland game because of a terrible cold.  My son goes to Siegel, so he was happy with the outcome, but I have friends and parents who play and go to Oakland.  I am always dissappointed for the other guys in town.  But if we were to beat Riverdale..........Oh well, dreams can come true in time. Riverdale is tough enough to beat some college teams.  Very talented.  I pull for them too.  You have to be proud of them for Murfreesboro's sake.

Did a little work Sat. and helped sell tickets at the Varsity Baseball Tournament to do my part for the booster club.  Went to see a movie with my wife (40 year old virgin) that night.  It was not a good movie.  Some funny stuff, but way too much bad language.  Totally took away from the movie.  Ate some good Mexican food however.

Sunday church was good.  All of the talk is about the hurricane and what we can do for some of those folks.  I feel like I need to do something more than just write a check.  I wouldn't mind housing a family for awhile.  Something I can see and feel direct connection with.  Went out to eat again with Joy to Chef Wangs. It was really good at the fresh cooking bar.  Good shrimp.  Then watched more shrimp stuff in the show Forrest Gump.  That's all I have to say about that.

Monday, Labor Day, I got up later and cooked eggs and bacon with my coffee and newspaper.  Then we laid out by the pool and relaxed.  That lasted about 45 min since I felt compelled to mow the lawn.  #3 child was spending the night with a friend, so we just piddled at the house.  Had the youth minister and family over for swimming and grilled out steaks.  Very nice time.  Very relaxing evening.  They left early to put kiddos to bed. (age 1,3,5 - better them than us)

2 in college for us now and one freshman in high school.  House is getting a little bit quieter than we are used to, and quite frankly, than we would like.  Having little kids around tonight was fun.  Everything was exciting and fun for them in the pool.  I guess we can look forward to grandkids splashing around in it one day.  Our high school son swims with friends a lot.  This gives Joy lots of pleasure to see her kids having fun in the pool.  Even the college ones when they come home.

Gotta busy work day tomorrow.  6 ballgames this week and some volunteer in the concession stand as well.  September is so busy with baseball, basketball practice, and just working to pay for school bills.  Got a fund raising golf scramble in there somewhere too.

Remember that we all get out of focus for many reasons.  We don't see right then. We might not even walk right or walk into things that we shouldn't.  We might even get discouraged from the fog that we can't get out of.  But Jesus and His power will give us the right lens to see with.  Life will be more clear when we see ourself as a transformed person instead of just a human being.  Enfoque

hey out there again.  it has been awhile since i updated as you can see, but i am not much on sitting and rambling on and on about my life.

just got back from rockwood, tenn. at connor's state baseball tournament.  we won it going 5-0 and won it 4-3 leaving the tying run at 2nd.  good drama.  connor is now officially finished with his team ball for the summer, so this means that we can relax a little, play some golf, go to camps and mission trips, and not sweat at the concrete jungles they call ball park complexes.  maybe i can play a few rounds of golf as well.

got church camp this week through the weekend.  i enjoy this a lot and enjoy getting out of the 'boro some too.  clay is coming late since Lipscomb Advance is thurs. and friday.  getting ready for college.  oh, my.  big days ahead for him.

big days ahead for connor also as he moves into high school.  big days for the high school he attends too.

joy and i just plug along chasing them.  will be different in about 6 weeks with 2 in college and only 1 left at home.  joy plans to work some at school, so maybe she will fill in some of the time.

mission trip later in july will be great again.  going to ensenada mexico to help minister to orphans, build a small house, and distribute food and things to some of the needy.  there are so many in need there, but our small contribution can help someone and give them hope as well.

that's all for now.   Adios.

Hello out there.  It has been awhile.  Christmas, New Years, Back to Work, blah, blah, blah.  Am glad school has started back.  Was ready for a routine.  If anyone cares, I am proud of the many blessings that I have here in the Boro.  Our church and the youth group that I am privaledged to serve.  Our church family and the many great people that make up our family.  Our home and my wife and kids.  My practice and the many great patients that I serve.

Am going out tonight with my wife to eat somewhere nice and to see Coach Carter.  No Siegel game tonight, so I am going to see one on a movie.  Go figure.     Live long and prosper.

Going to Disney with the Siegel Chamber Choir today.  Am taking other 2 kids and wife to make it a family affair, something that is getting harder to do as our little birds fly the nest more and more.  Our job is to chaperone during the show to make sure that any singer in our group gets immediate care if they faint during the show.  Of course I have extensive training for this being an EYE DOCTOR.

Plan to have a big time anyway.  Connor has not been there since he was 7.  Probably does not remember any of it even though he ran out in front of some of the electric light parade floats in the middle of the parade and made it come to a complete stop for a couple of minutes.  Quite an embarrassment for us, I must say.   Later.

"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow Up.   You're kingdom subjects.   Now live like it.   Live out your God-created identity.   Live generously and graciously towards others, the way God lives toward you."

End of Matthew 5 from The Message
